Personal Insights from My Mission Trip to Ngatataek, Kenya...
During the first week of September, I joined six other men and traveled to the small, remote village of Ngatataek about two and a half hours south of Nairobi, Kenya. It was the first time I had ever been part of a mission trip of that scope and distance.
Here are a few other personal insights from that trip through pictures and a couple of short videos. It is my prayer you will also be inspired to become involved in the mission of serving others. I encourage you to listen to God and set out on your own mission trip, wherever that may be, knowing God has already prepared you, in advance, to do great things in His name.

Video - Maasai Leader and His Family Greet Us...
One of the many highlights of our trip was being invited to share a meal with a local Maasai leader. This gentleman was one of the first leaders in the area to give his life to Jesus. When he heard we were coming, he sent word he would like to offer us dinner at his "boma." The term boma refers to the compound the traditional Maasai people construct to keep predators and enemies from their huts and animals. Taking large thorn bushes, branches, and trees, they build a large "fence" encircling the land where they plan to build their huts.
In this short video, the family comes out of the boma to greet us by singing, clapping and dancing. They then break into a praise song, singing "Alleluia" as they lead us into the boma for a traditional Maasai goat roast.

Video - A Quick Overview of the Ngatataek Training Center Compound
From atop a small storage shed where I was preparing a 5,000 liter water tank, I shot this short video in an almost 360 degree vantage point. It helps give a perspective of how the training center compound is laid out. (The children's school is just past the black tank in the final frames.)
